I think the Chargers are the best team in AFC West that’s full of energy. It sounds fine when I say this on the radio or TV, but I’d sound an idiot if the Bolts didn’t come to play in Week Two in Kansas City.
Now, chargers Act The Chiefs conceded a loss at Arrowhead last September, with Justin Herbert throwing four touchdown passes, including the match winner in the last minute of play. Then the two teams played an instant classic Thursday night footballwith Patrick Mahomes & Company dominating in overtime, leaving Brandon Staley to answer questions about some controversial decisions in fourth place.
It will be a Mahomes vs. Herbert featured for a long time. And I can’t wait to see the Chargers’ new defense, with JC Jackson and Khalil Mack joining Derwin James and Joey Bosa. Will the Mahomes still be dominant – especially when it comes to blasting the top off defense – without Tyrick Hill?

Kansas City has made a lot of changes this season, from revamping the receiving corps to adding new faces in high school. Historically, defenses led by Steve Spagnolo have taken as many as four games together as a unit before settling into their identity. While The Chiefs are benefiting from their season opener against the Cardinals without DeAndre Hopkins, their next six games before Week 8 will be grueling. They’ll need to make the most of pre-season and week one to get everyone on the same page as quickly as possible.
Twelfth Week: Rams in Chiefs
This is one of the busiest weeks of the season, with great games all weekend. This one is at the top of the list, though, because it features the best offensive and defensive players in the NFL, as well as two of the league’s best coaches and several stars on both sides of the ball.
Arizona will open the season at home for the 10th time since it began playing at State Farm Stadium in 2006. In 18 seasons at Sun Devil Stadium, the Cardinals have never played at home in their first week.
The Cardinals will enter the match against the Chiefs with a record 11-5 in the home opener at State Farm Stadium.
Arizona has never lost a regular season opener under a coach Cliff Kingsbury, scoring 2-0-1 in his first three seasons. The Cardinal has won each of the opening games of the past two seasons, bringing down the defending NFC champions 49ers 24-20 in 2020, and the defending champion defeated the South Asian giants 38-13 last season.
Combined with their first-week win in Tennessee in 2021, it will be the first time since 1996-97 (Colts and Bengals) the Cardinals have opened consecutive seasons against opponents from the AFC.
week 1: at Chicago Bearsto be announced later on
Week 2: Against Washington’s leaders, to be determined

About the NFL
The two teams announced Thursday that the NFL will open the 2022 season as last season’s final game began — at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, where the Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams host the Buffalo Bills on September 8.
The Bills-Rams match features elite quarterback play between Matthew Stafford and Josh Allen, who led the Bills to a back-to-back playoff appearance. This game highlights a challenging timeline for the Rams, whose opponents have a higher league win percentage than last season (56.7%). NBC will broadcast the match.
Monday Night football opener offers an interesting story – Russell Wilson made his Denver Broncos debut against his old team, the Seattle Seahawks, at Lumen Field. Wilson led the Seahawks to two Super Bowl appearances and nine winning seasons over a 10-year period. Seattle replaced Wilson with Denver in March in exchange for multiple draft picks and veteran players. The game airs September 12 on ESPN.

Jacksonville Jaguars In Heads – Week 10
For the third year in a row, Jaguar selected players in the first round of NFL Project. The theory is that teams at the bottom of the ranking can reach better players in the draft, so they have a chance to improve through talent infusion.
But this is just a theory. Since 2008, Jacksonville has exceeded 0.500 only once. Will Travon Walker first overall – along with linebacker Devin Lloyd, taken at 20 – finally help turn things around?
With quarterback Trevor Lawrence (and coach Doug Pederson), that’s always possible. But I won’t call her likely to.
