South Wales Police Seek Public’s Help in Finding Man After Fatal Crash

Merthyr Tydfil, Wales – A tragic incident on Swansea Road has left a family in mourning and South Wales Police appealing to the public for assistance. Demi Mabbitt, a resident of Aberfan, was involved in a single-vehicle collision on the evening of April 5th at around 11:45 pm BST. Sadly, Ms. Mabbitt succumbed to her injuries a week later.

Authorities are currently conducting a manhunt for Cameron Jones, a 29-year-old from Merthyr Tydfil, believed to be connected to the incident. A 30-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of aiding Mr. Jones in evading police apprehension.

Detective Sergeant Debbie Hobrough of South Wales Police emphasized the urgency in locating Mr. Jones, describing him as a “dangerous individual” and advising the public to refrain from approaching him directly. Instead, they are urged to contact the police with any information regarding his whereabouts.

The close-knit Mabbitt family paid a heartfelt tribute to their beloved Demi. In a statement, they described her as a “wonderful daughter, granddaughter, sister, auntie and cousin.” They further highlighted her kindness and selflessness, stating that she was “the most kind, gentle soul who would do anything to help anyone.”

The family expressed their profound grief, adding, “She was the glue that held our family together and a fighter until the end, our beautiful girl was taken far too soon. Our family are devastated, there are no words to describe the heartache and pain we are feeling.”

South Wales Police are actively seeking witnesses who may have seen a white Audi S3 travelling from Trago Mills towards the A465 around the time of the incident. Any information, however seemingly insignificant, could prove crucial in this ongoing investigation.
